Simon is a workaholic without any social contact. Gradually his world becomes smaller and smaller and even at the very end, there is nothing left in his world but only his work. Director’s statement: When I was six, a classic movie called “Return of the Jedi” deeply influenced and changed my life. From then on I became a constant Star Wars fan and fell in love with sci-fi movies and animations. I also have a strong interest and a born talent in drawing since I was a little boy. So I used my leisure time to do graphic design commissions for certain organizations and earned their high praise.

In 2005, I came to Academy of Art University, San Francisco to study 3D character animation. In my third academic year, I got a rare chance to take one-on-one directed study with Pixar Animation Studio animator Bruce Kuei for a year. Bruce not only imparted me professional animation skills but also guided me to finish my personal short film “Live outside the Box.”
