Rick Clayfield is a young Air Force drone pilot, operating air-strikes in Afghanistan remotely from a base in California, and returning each day to his wife and toddler son. Trained on video games and far from harm’s way, Rick treats killing insurgents on his screen like getting a high score until his team makes a lethal mistake. Now, with growing stress at war and pressures at home, will he be able to continue as a ‘cubicle warrior’ and remain detached from the human cost of remote control warfare?

Casey Cooper Johnson: Director & Writer
Prior to completing his MFA at the American Film Institute, Casey spent the past ten years in Kosovo as a TV producer, documentary filmmaker, and political satirist. He first explored video-making during his volunteer work in post-war Kosovo. Since then, he has produced and directed dozens of documentaries in the Balkan region, collaborating with his wife, Antoneta, and his sister-in-law/cinematographer, Sevdije Kastrati, under their film company, Crossing Bridges Productions. His recent documentaries have won prizes at festivals ZagrebDox, Croatia and Dokufest, Kosovo. Casey is best known for his work as co-producer of the acclaimed current affairs show, LIFE IN KOSOVO, and his self-directed satirical TV sketches, “Kosova’s Son in Law.” He is now adapting UNMANNED into a full length feature movie.
