Valentine Hermann is a young New York actor whose German grandfather had a datsche, a summer house, just outside of Berlin. Unfortunately the grandfather has died and Valentine is heading to spend a summer in a garden house, not knowing anything about gardening or German gardening rules. However, someone is already in the datsche: Adam, a refugee trying to escape deportation. Valentine and Adam become friends, but when a xenophobic neighbour starts spying on them, and Valentine invites other strangers to stay at the datsche, Adam’s safety is threatened. He must choose between the security of the datsche or living a full but threatened life. Director Lara Hewitt and cast attending.
