Simon is a workaholic without any social contact. Gradually his world becomes smaller and smaller and even at the very end, there is nothing left in his world but only his work. This severe impact finally wakes him up and now Simon has to find the right way to bring his life back before everything is too late…

By the advancement of the technology and network, people believe that the field of their vision is broadened, but on the other hand, they might neglect the fact that their substantial living space is gradually shrinking. People spend more time sitting in front of their computers but less time interacting with others.

Director’s statement: When I was six, a classic movie called “Return of the Jedi” deeply influenced and changed my life. From then on I became a constant Star Wars fan and fell in love with sci-fi movies and animations. I also have a strong interest and a born talent in drawing since I was a little boy. Although I chose Electrical Engineering as my college major, I still couldn’t give up my passion in art during my college year. So I used my leisure time to do graphic design commissions for certain organizations and earned their high praise.

In 2005, I came to Academy of Art University, San Francisco to study 3D character animation. In my third academic year, I got a rare chance to take one-on-one directed study with Pixar Animation Studio animator Bruce Kuei for a year. Bruce not only imparted me professional animation skills but also guided me to finish my personal short film “Live outside the Box.”
